Eye Styes
A sty (hordeolum) is a small painful abscess that usually occurs in the oil glands at the margin of the eyelid but can also occur deeper inside the eyelid. Styes are accompanied by redness, swelling, and pus formation.
Eyelid Problems
Irritations and infections can affect the eyelids. A *sty is an *abscess that forms on the lids as a result of an infection. *Skin problems can affect the eyelid as well, as the skin around the eyes is most sensitive.
Sty
A sty is an annoying and painful, though not serious, *eye problem. This infection of an oil gland causes an *abscess to form near the lashes. First signs are inflammation of the affected lid, with redness, swelling and great tenderness.
