Winter Skin Blues?

Dry, itchy skin–it’s as much a staple of winter in Canada as hockey and warm woolen mittens. Here’s a sure-fire formula to warm you up, and soothe your scaly skin:

Beautiful Body Butter

  • 1 ripe organic banana
  • Flesh of 1 ripe organic avocado
  • 1 stick softened sweet butter
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) whipping cream
  • 1 drop rose essential oil

Blend the ingredients in a food processor until smooth. If necessary, add more whipping cream to make the mixture smooth and silky. If you don’t have a food processor, use a food masher or your hands.

Steam the bathroom to open your pores and prepare your skin for the treatment. Place an old blanket on the bathroom floor and cover with two large towels. Massage the body butter over your entire body, avoiding eye area and any open wounds.

Lie down on the towels and wrap yourself in them and the blanket. Remain there and relax for about 15 minutes. Rinse off in the shower, using a soft cloth or bath puff and a natural soap. You will smell wonderful and your skin will feel smooth and soft.
