Can anyone recommend a good meal replacement? I've tried product that uses PGX, but it does't seem to fill me up and curb my appetite as advertised.

Hi Guest, what product are you using and what are you using it for?
What is the macronutrient ratio of the product you are using now? I.e how many calories does it have, including protein. carbs, and fat per serving? Im not very familiar with PGX (PolyGlycoplex) but from what I have read its suppose to help you feel satisfied for hours after ingestion. Look for a product that is higher in protein and moderate to low in carbs and if possible has some EFA's in it.
Also make sure the product isn't too low in carbs. Remember it is suppose to be a meal replacement :)

Hi there!
My sister and I came across an amazing meal replacement bar. We had it when we went to England and we had it practically every night for supper. It filled us up and tastes delicious. If you want more info you can email me at ncys1@aol.com

Hi NaturalFitness,

Thanks so much for your reply. I'm looking for something that will curb my hunger enough to skip a meal and instead be satisfied with a small snack like fruit. The formula has 19g of protein, 7g of fat, 232 calories, and 21g of carbs. Is this a good macronutrient ratio? To me, this seems like a lot of fat for not curbing my hunger 100%. I didn't think I'd need to even have the snack. I was hoping to cut down to one meal a day (dinner) and just have the drink with snacks from time to time if I was really hungry.

I excersize regularly, but my problem is having healthy meals mixed in with really unhealthy meals...the worst possible junk foods one could be eating.

Hi Guest, the macronutrient ratios of that bar seem to be pretty good and the total calories I think is pretty good as well. Now the reason that you maybe feeling hungry still after eating the meal replacement bar might be (and I say might be because I don't know the total calories you eat per day) because you may actually maybe eating too few calories and unfortunately eating too few calories is just as bad as eating to many because if the calories are to low the body reacts and goes into starvation mode and will start to store all the calories eaten throughout the day. This is why "very" low calorie diets don't work. They may work for a few days but once the body adjusts it will slow down your metabolism because it thinks your starving and weight loss comes to a screaching halt, hormones start to go haywire and this causes more hunger. If you want to stay satisfied and feel full you should eat try to 5-6 smaller "balanced meals or snacks a day spread out every 2 and a half to 3 hours. Meal replacements are a good way to get the 5-6 meals per day.
2-3 meal replacements along with 2-3 meals or snacks and your done :)

This should get your metabolism going strong again after a few days and should start to curb your appetite and sweet tooth at the same time (somewhat). If your constantly craving sugary foods you should look at some of the articles on Alive's website to see what could be the cause of this.

A few more things I need to mention are; during your normal meals
make sure most of the fat comes from good sources and not trans fat or hydrogenated type oils and finally make sure you are taking a good multi-vitamin-mineral and drink lots of water. Most people don't realize the importance of this nutrient. Your body cannot function at its best without it. Make these changes slowly and see if it helps you out. I hope it does :)

Hi, I am also using a meal replacement drink, it's called WellBetX with the PGx and I find it works well for keeping me from being hungry. My question is, what happens when you lose the weight you want, can you stop taking it without gaining the weight back. I'm just worried about that and was hoping someone could help me.

Thanks!!

What is phentermine?

Phentermine is a stimulant that is similar to an amphetamine. Phentermine is an appetite suppressant that affects the central nervous system.

Phentermine is used togther with diet and exercise to treat obesity (overweight) in people with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes.

So basically...it helps to suppress hunger.

I kind of understood what Phentermine was, but the comment seemed to be some sort of comment, about using Phen instead of MRB's or something like that, although strangely, the comment is not present, or part of it has been removed, I don't know.

There is no previous mention of Phen on this discussion before I posted, and there was when I posted that comment, hence why I said what I did :?

Now my comment looks weird, because I look like I'm making light of something, that appears to have not been brought up when it was.

Meal replacement drinks are a scam. They are just another packaged, processed food, marketed by some giant corporation that is interested in selling you a "concept", not something that works or is good for you. Eat something real, eat fruits and vegetables, process your own juices if you must, but forget about using a processed, packaged food to replace a meal. It won't work..
