|
|
Not a pretty subject, but I'm at my wits end. I've had this excessive discharge since I was little. (12-13 years old.) I'm now 23.
I've had numerous tests, it has nothing to do with sex (since I had it happen before I even had a boyfriend), I've had many pap smears and all the doctors just say it's just natural. Some days it gets so bad that it leaks through jeans.
There's no smell, nothing. I can't find any research or any other woman that has a similar problem.
Any help would be much appreciated. |

Hi,
I would not worry about it. I have had this problem also since I was 13-14, am now 20. It is normal for women to have discharge, it is heavier right before your period and lighter right after - I find. Again, this is normal, relax!!! If it bugs you that much wear a thin panty liner and all is well. |

| hi i would worry I have the same thing and i am also 23 although my problem with the discharge started around 5 years ago, i reckon its candida, all the sweets and junk i had been eating all those years have taken its toll, take a good source of probiotics and you should be fine, correct your diet with fresh fruits and vegs and see if it gets better. Wish you good health. |

| Hi Danyelle, I am 32 and just wanted you to know that I have had the same problem for years as well. Sometimes heavier than others but always clear to whitish color. I know its hard to believe this is something that all women go thru and that its just a way of life for us because it is very frustrating to say the least. |

| Wow...this is very interesting. I thought I was one of the very few who has this problem. I am 18 and I thought this was only a "puberty" thing, but it has continued since I was about 12. Discharge is not only excessive, but ridiculous. I, too, wondered if this was normal. I went to doctors, gynos, taken every test known...you name it. They all say the same thing..."It's normal", or "This part of your body doing natual processes." Sounds like a bunch of bologna to me! I am negative for all that STD and diesease stuff, so I know that those aren't the problem. Some people say that I am just fertile, but I really don't know. So I deal with it and hope that one day I can wake up and have a regualr day with out changing my panty liner like every hour on the hour...or running to the bathroom to line my undies with tissue. Color and odor are normal, but just the sticky-wet feeling between your legs is so annoying. I am dertermined to know what this is...so I am still on my search to find out. |

| I too have had the same problem since i was 12. Im now 21, if anything it has gotten worse. I cant sneeze, cough, or walk without feeling the sticky wet uncomfortable feeling in my panties. Its horrible, embarrassing. I HATE living like this. Gynos have told me its normal, others have prescribed me medicine.. oral and vaginal insertion, but nothing has helped. I havent gone one day without having this problem. I wonder if it will ever stop... |

Anyone who poo hoo's this is just unfeeling. To say "just wear a pad" is ridiculous.
I went to doctors a number of times. Had all the "tests" done and they everything came up fine. Finally one doctor got in there and actually looked around. Turned out I had a polyp that was producing mucous. Excessive mucous.
The doctor sent me to a gynocologist to have it removed. It was done just during an office visit and took a couple minutes. The mucous immediately cleared up. I mean, instantly. Gone. Only normal amounts of discharge after that.
The gyn did caution me that it might grow back and unfortunately it has. I was mucous free for a number of years, though. I intend on going back and getting it removed again. Since I'm currently single it hasn't been much of an issue and I've been procrastinating.
Just a suggestion for anyone to get their doctor to look in to.... |

| I am twenty four and have been experiencing the same problem for half of my life. I remember it starting shortly before my first period. And like someone said, when my period goes off, I experience the joy of not having any discharge. But, two days later, its back on again. I don't know what to do. I've gone to doctor after doctor with the last telling me to douche off and on. I didnt even try that because I did not want to damage my reproductive system. I am tired of this excessive discharge but I dont want to make things worse than what they already are. |

| Sometimes high estrogen levels can increase the amount of vaginal lubrication you produce. Have you tried a lower estrogen, higher androgen oral contraceptive? |

hi, i'm 17 years old and have also had this problem since around elementary school. it really sucks. i went to a gyn and she said it was normal and that everything looks fine 'down stairs'. she told me to blow dry on cool down there when i get out of the shower and then to put baby powder on and also wear a panty liner. i had already been doing that and it only works for a few hours. i really wish there is something i can do. i was looking up ways of treating this just barely and found these herbal supplements, i've gotta ask my mom about them first and see if she thinks i should try them out. one is called femiplex and the other femiforte. i have no clue if they work or not but i'm willing to try anything at this point. i don't masturbate or any of that stuff so i know its not from that. any advice or counsel anyone can give me would be great. i just want to live a normal life and not worry about this stuff. i've held myself back from trying out on any sports teams, dance teams, lots of parties, and all that good stuff just because i this problem. please help!

| I actually had that experience earlier this evening and am very baffled by it. That is why I am ion this site, trying to figure out what could have caused it. I have no STD's, no infections of any kind. Its been a few days since I last had sex, so I know that's not the issue. But I seriously fe;lt like I had wet myself, there was so much discharge. But the discharge itself was perfectly healthy. No clumps, npo odor, no weird color to it. I don't understand what caused it. All I was doing was getting Jelly out of the fridge to make a sandwich. |

| Have you given any thought on food elimination? What you may wish to consider is does this get better or worse after you consume certain foods. By slowly eliminating certain foods one can determine if a particular food could be the culprit. Drinking more water to stay hydrated may help but don't over do it. Coffee, beer etc. does not count towards drinking water. Try eliminating alcohol and coffee for a period of one month. Another biggie is sugar. Try staying away from anything with sugar in it or at least minimize your consumption of sugar products ie donuts, pop, candy bars, cake, etc. Reduce or eliminate trans fats and anything hydrogenized ie bad fats. Dairy products like milk, cheese, ice cream etc. should be considered for elimination. Grains and byproducts should also be considered for elimantion - reduction. Consider eliminating any of the above for a period of one month and see how you feel. If the results are positive then you may want to permenantly cut the offenders off. Good luck. |

This isn't an allergy. True food allergies are not that common, but allergy medication is. There wouldn't be so many of us with this problem if it was an allergy.
I'm 38, and this started two years ago for me. I have all the same symptoms you all have, discharge that ranges from watery and clear to white, thick and sticky like paste. It's so bad that my underwear actually yanks out hair when I take it off. (Who needs waxing?)
I'm too young for menopause, can't get pregnant (my choice). I'm tired of wearing pads all month long, and the smell can get pretty bad. It's like this even through my period, which is gross beyond belief. It never ends.
But think of this: Do you have any other things wrong that you don't think are related? Dry skin, unexplained weight gain, abnormal amounts of hair in weird places or thinning hair on the head? Do your loved ones complain that you're irritable or cry for no reason? Are your periods normal in length, timing or severity?
My family has inherited PCOS: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It's almost impossible to be diagnosed unless you're trying to have kids, and doctors will treat you like you're nuts. Heck, I thought I was for a while, but the therapist sent me to an MD. I still am fighting with doctors.
I'm close to giving up, letting the hair grow and moving to the woods. That's what Sasquatch are, ya know, women who gave up and got hairy because they werre told nothing is wrong with them.
Don't let anyone tell you this is normal, it's NOT.
Don't give up, get angry. If enough of us do, the stupid doctors will have to pay attention.
Good Luck!! |
