My daughters teacher feels she may have Attention Deficit Disorder. She feels this may be the reason my daughter is struggling with reading. Reading seems to be the only issue.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on natural remedies which may be helpful. Although it was suggested to have her tested, there is no way i would put her on ridalin anyways so not sure what the test would accomplish.
thanks

I would think testing wouldn't mean having to be given Ritalin. Shouldn't be under any obligation to take Ritalin after testing I would have thought.
Has this situation been ruled out for Dyslexia? |

The Feingold Program eliminated artificial colours, flavours and preservatives from your diet and it has helped a lot of ADD kids. Go to there web site feingold.org and check it out.
We have been doing it for over two years. |

| it could be also ADHD, i know they often confuse the two. Just be sure to get a 2nd opinion before they diagnose your child with something! |

The answer is simple....diet and exercise. I know it sounds funny but I think ADD is just a made up disease by the drug companies, intending to put our children on pills the day they are born. Make sure your children are eating a diet containing only real fruits and vegetables, legumes, whole grains (real whole grains like quinoa, spelt, millet etc. not in a box), seeds, nuts and fish. Avoid all packaged and processed foods like the plague as I believe they contain all sorts of things that kid's little bodies cannot tolerate, that causes them to react in unpredictable ways, like an "ADD" kid does. Avoid fast food like the plague, and I categorize all restaurant or store bought food as fast food.
Exercise. I think physical activity is another key. It strengthens the body and sharpens the mind along the way. It helps to get out their little frustrations and I think it also helps sweat toxins out of our bodies.
I've seen at least a half dozen kids personally rescued from the clutches of so called ADD from this simple advice. |
