How many people who support natural healing methods and use herbs, homeopathic remedies and natural food supplements are aware of the passing of Bill C-51 see read it on parl.ge.ca or stopee51.com and its implications to all of us..I am a Reiki master, and Back remedies person who totally relies on these natural methods for health..The new bill which is to be passed on May 9th has been kept very low key but its implications are far reaching and restrictive for us..Big Pharma seeks to outlaw 60 percent of natural health products sold in Canada and criminalizing parents who give herbs or supplements to their children. It proposes sweeping changes to Canada's Food and Drug Acts that could have a devasting effect on our health care products..If you have a concern read the act and call your MP to stop this bill from being passed..let us not be complacent about something we need and value for our won healt6h and our children's health..lets not be complacent and stick our heads in the sand at this crisis in our health care...

I'd advise everyone concerned about this Bill to check nhppa.org and read the legal discussion - they break down the bill for people like me who don't understand the crazy wording the government uses.

Also check cnhc.ca and http://www.healthcoalition.ca/c51.html. Another website that sort of spearheaded the stop C-51 movement is stopc51.com.

The amendments currently proposed/being done are not much better than the original bill. The main change was the inclusion of a definition for Natural Health Products, but this definition reads almost identical as the definition for drugs (what would be the difference, then?), and still keeps them in the same category as drugs.

This bill would allow the government to pass laws in Canada from other countries without discussion in parliament. (If you have never heard of CODEX, check www.anhcampaign.org under the 'Our Campaigns' section to see how Bill C-51 is a Canadian version of this problematic legislation being introduced to countries all over the world.)

We all need to get involved on this one! Write your MP, write the Prime Minister, write the Minister of Health. (Address can be found here http://www.healthcoalition.ca/addresses.html - and here http://www2.parl.gc.ca/Parlinfo/Compilations/HouseOfCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC) Write the Standing Committee on Health. Do whatever you can. There are tools at cnhc.ca for action. We need to protect our health freedom!
