Toxic chemicals in the home...

I am all for a healthy home... as most of us are :D It amazes me though how many manufacturers are still using toxic chemicals in the products we all use every day... in cleaning products, laundry products, even personal care products. We spend so much money every year on finding a cure for cancer... that is all very well.... but why not spend some time trying to prevent it in the first place? Why in this day in age is the government not making these manufacturers STOP using the toxic chemicals??!! I mean, come on... do they really need to add formaldehyde to baby products? It's a preservative... but do we really need to have it in own homes?
The government spends so much money on outdoor environment, yet most people have no idea how many chemicals they are breathing right inside their own homes.
