|
|
I have two teenagers at home; the younger is 15 years old and has Asthma.
Few weeks ago, with all the "flu mania”: going on the news, I felt that I have to do more in order to protect them better from the flu...
I did some research online on various vitamins, effective herbal remedies and nutritional supplements that should boost up the immune system...
So, we are drinking lots of orange juice, eating greens, even garlic cloves (yes -raw) and of course washing our hands constantly…yet I felt it’s not enough.
About two weeks ago I came across an interesting article about a new antiviral supplement, product of a scientific research that is targeting chronic viruses in the body and helps preventing chronic diseases, but can also be efficient in boosting up the immune system against the flu.
I liked the fact that it’s a science based supplement, and I decided to order two bottles (it's called Gene-Eden) for us.
Since we only starting taking it recently, I don’t know how efficient it is against the flu, but I can definitely tell you that both my husband and I sleep much better at nights, and we feel more energetic in the morning…The kids don’t report any change as of yet.
I wonder if anybody else here is trying it. And if so, what are the results so far? :) |

Well, after few weeks my family is on Gene-Eden, I now definitely recommend it to you all!
There was a small swine flu epidemic in my son's school, and five students from his class caught it, I was sure that my son is about to have it too, and was extremely concern because of his Asthma.
I decided to keep him on a higher dose of gene-eden (4x day), and it seems that it did the job because he wasn't infected!
besides the unpleasant taste- it seems that for my family it's really doing the job.
 |

Hey there,
what a coincidence... I also came across that Gene-Eden's website and read about those viruses… and I am not talking flu here. They say that even during their incubation period those viruses can be pretty nasty... and even cause cancer.
my daughter took it to boost up her immune system after chemotherapy. it did a great job... and in only few weeks her white blood cell counts went back to normal. of course her doctor was suspicious about the effect of the supplement, but I don't really care. it helped her a lot and that's why I wrote about it.
Take care and feel better

| Is there anywhere in Canada that sells this Gene-Eden product or does it have to be ordered from the US? |

|
|
There has been a lot going on in the news and media regarding this flu season and the H1N1 virus. So, probably like many others, I am very confused about the best choices I need to make for my family and for myself.
Recently, I made the choice to see a naturopathic doctor after my sister recommended that I see her's. I must say, I was skeptical in the beginning, but after talking to my naturopathic doctor I can say that I feel more comfortable about facing the flu this year.
I learned how to eat well and what supplements I should take to best prepare for the flu, how exercise and certain herbs can help and she really explained the H1N1 virus well. I left my appointment feeling well-informed and not scared of the flu anymore.
I definitely recommend seeing a naturopathic doctor and I really liked the clinic I went to, it's a new clinic in toronto and the people there are really friendly...it's called Adara Integrative Clinic and this is their website: www.adaraclinic.ca
Cheers :) |

In our household, with 2 young daughters, we are gargling with sea salt twice a day, something I was taught by my elders. As well as MultiVs, VC, Onions, Garlic ... as preventive measures.

There is an interesting article on the net, which makes a lot of sense, but we are still research'n it's truthfulness of origin...
Prevent Swine Flu - Good Advice - By Dr. Vinay Goyal
Presently, he is heading the Nuclear Medicine Department and Thyroid clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical Centre, Malad (W).
The following message was given by him. It makes a lot of sense and is important for all to know.
The only portals of entry for the H1N1 virus (or any virus for that matter) are the nostrils and mouth/throat.
In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem asproliferation is. (The spreading of the virus from its point of entry).
While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):
1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).
2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat or bathe).
3. Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one.Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.
4. Clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. Blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population. Sinus rinse kits are available at the drug store and relatively inexpensive.
5. Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (citrus fruits). If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.
6. Drink as much warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can. Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm. |
