Two recipes that use Stevia, that sweetener derived from a plant that has no calories. I tried this mainly as I was trying to increase my water intake and had to find something to flavour it up.
Organic and/or Natural, no calorie Lemonade:
In a 1 L water bottle;
almost a liter of spring/natural water
2 - 3 T organic lemon juice
10 - 15 drops stevia liquid.
Organic and/or Natural, low calorie Ice Caps:
In a blender:
1/2 cup milk (soy, rice, almond, dairy)
1/2 cup spring/natural water
1 cup ice cubes
1 T cocoa powder
10 - 15 drops stevia
1 tsp. CafeLib or instant coffee
1/2 tsp vanilla, organic/natural
Adjust levels to suit you, perhaps 1 cup rice milk as it is less 'creamy' than soy milk. Makes 2 cups at approx. 40 - 80 calories per cup. Beats the chemical Ice Caps at 300 calories per cup, with no synthetics or blood sugar spiking. |
