Trisodium phosphate


Just wondering about the use of trisodium phosphate (TP)in food such as cereals. I have not found extensive info on the dangers if any. As well, I understand TP is used in cleaning agents? Is there a different grade of TP that is used in food vs cleaning agents? Was it first discovered to hold cleaning properties then used in food or vice versa?
