#2013alive: Choose Natural Products

Share

It’s week 2 of July on our 12 Months of Wellness journey. This week, we’re going green by choosing natural cosmetics and cleaning products. Join us!

For week 2 of July’s 12 Months of Wellness, we’re going green by choosing natural products—cleaning products and personal care products, that is.

Chemicals are lurking in conventional cleaning products, makeup, and the personal care products we use every day—everything from shampoo to glass cleaner. Choosing natural products means that the products aren’t just healthier for us, but they’re also healthier for the planet.

How to do it

For cosmetics and personal care products, learn the truth about conventional products in our new July article “Cosmetic Safety: 8 myths debunked.” For cleaning products, find out what chemicals might be lurking inside your cleaning products in our recent blog post. Then make your way to your natural health retailer and stock up on safer options.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to do everything all at once. It can be a gradual transition, so when you’re out of dish detergent, for example, choose an eco-friendly alternative. Then it can become easily integrated into your routine.

What products will you be swapping for eco-friendly versions this week? Share your story via blog or Facebook comments, or by using the Twitter hashtag #2013alive to let us know how you’re doing on your 2013 journey! Don’t forget to download your July 12 Months of Wellness goal tracking sheet!

Plus, tune in to find out how we’re doing by checking our ongoing Twitter, Facebook, and blog posts.
