Cranberry Sauce

    Up the disease-preventing ability of this classic sauce by replacing white sugar with bacteria-fighting organic honey.

    4 cups (1 L) fresh cranberries
    1/2 cup (125 mL) water
    1/2 cup (125 mL) orange juice
    1 tsp (5 mL) grated orange peel
    1/2 cup (125 mL) honey

    Rinse cranberries thoroughly and remove any spoiled ones. In saucepan, bring water, orange juice, and orange peel to boil. Add cranberries and reduce to medium heat.

    Simmer mixture uncovered, stirring frequently. When all of the berries have popped, remove sauce from stove and let stand for about 10 minutes. Stir in honey to sweeten. Chill before serving.

    Serves 10.

    Each serving contains: 76 calories; 0 g protein; 0 g total fat (0 g sat. fat, 0 g trans fat); 20 g carbohydrates; 2 g fibre; 2 mg sodium
