Brazilian Avocado Smoothie

    Brazilians have a way with avocados. Avocado shakes and smoothies are a regular part of their diet and can be made sweet or savoury. It’s a healthy and flavourful way to put a bounce in your step first thing in the morning!

    2 cups (500 mL) unsweetened almond milk1 avocado, peeled and chopped1 Tbsp (15 mL) lemon juice1 tsp (5 mL) natural vanilla extract3 Tbsp (45 mL) wildflower honey4 ice cubes

    Place all ingredients in blender and whirl until smooth. Taste and add more honey, if you wish.

    Serves 2.

    Each serving contains: 247 calories; 2 g protein; 12 g total fat (2 g sat. fat, 0 g trans fat); 36 g carbohydrates; 6 g fibre; 177 mg sodium
