Many fashion trends come and go over the years but have you heard of the latest trend-cocktail botox parties? People go to a party and pay hundreds of dollars to have botulinum toxin injected into their faces.

Many fashion trends come and go over the years but have you heard of the latest trend cocktail botox parties? People go to a party and pay hundreds of dollars to have botulinum toxin injected into their faces. This surreal scenario is happening today in the quest to look forever young.

The good news is that there are many ways to keep skin healthy and young looking without using treatments derived from botulism.

Attractive Skin There are two factors that make your skin attractive: tone and colour. Tone describes your skins firmness. When skin sags it develops wrinkles which are tiny folds of dehydrated skin. Nurturing the skin with hydrating lotions, and internally ensuring an adequate amount of fluids is the key to maintaining skin tone. Water, herbal tea, and natural juices are the best choices. Caffeinated beverages, sugary drinks, and alcohol act as diuretics. Conscientiously moisturizing in the morning and evening will hold moisture in the skin cells. Dehydration of the surface layer of skin happens in a very short period of time. Sun, wind, air pollution, air conditioners, and central heating are five major causes of dry skin. Being aware of the effect these have on your skin puts you in position to be proactive. Smoking is the number one avoidable cause of wrinkles. Smoking guarantees to result in deep wrinkles on the upper lip and, in just a few years, a very unattractive leathery look. Other avoidable wrinkle enhancers include heavy makeup, neglecting to cleanse at night, and very low-fat diets. Skin colour varies from almost white to black. A healthy skin of any colour is radiant and glowing. A surface layer of dead cells results in a dull, drab appearance to the skin. Skin cells move from the lower dermis layer up to the surface, or epidermis layer. Dead cells left on the surface of the skin create an unattractive grey film. A simple method of home exfoliation is to apply a weekly face mask. Homemade masks are excellent, or you can purchase one at a health food store. For very dry or oily complexions check suitability of the product on the package. Attractive skin is not difficult to achieve, just follow a few simple rules: a healthy diet, lots of fluids, and a regular skin care regime. Who needs a botox cocktail party? Homemade Face Mask ¼ cup (60 ml) powdered oatmeal 1 Tbsp (15 ml) yogourt Few drops rose water Mix the yogourt and powdered oatmeal until it is paste with a fairly thick consistency. Add 3 drops of rose water. Apply liberally to the face and neck avoiding the eyes and lips. Let mask penetrate for 5 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, pat dry, and apply a moisturizer.
