Hopefully you'll have some frozen berries on hand

Hopefully you'll have some frozen berries on hand. I always buy extra when blueberries are in season and pop them in the freezer for a colourful treat throughout winter. Look for granola that is low in fat and sugar or make your own topping from oats, a little oil, coconut, and sugar.

6 cups (1.5 L) blueberries, fresh or frozen
1/4 cup (60 ml) natural sugar or honey
1 tbsp (15 ml) arrowroot powder or cornstarch
4 tbsp (60 ml) water
2-3 cups (500-750 ml) granola

Preheat oven to 375°F (180°C). Place the berries in a deep oven dish. In a bowl, whisk the cornstarch and water. Stir in the sugar or honey and pour over the blueberries. Sprinkle with the granola. Bake, uncovered, for 30 to 40 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
