A cool and refreshing summer beverage to keep you out of a hot kitchen. It's full of friendly bacteria and helps prevent dehydration. Mint can be used as a digestive tonic and makes a fresh, clean addition to any beverage.

2 3/4 cups (700 mL) buttermilk
1 1/4 cups (300 mL) sparkling water
1 Tbsp (15 mL) fresh-squeezed lime juice
1/2 Tbsp (7.5 mL) mixed herbs like mint, oregano, basil--fresh or dried
pinch salt

Stir or mix together all ingredients. Let sit in fridge for one to two hours so all the flavors incorporate. Serve with a sprig of fresh mint and enjoy! Makes one liter.
