Genetically modified StarLink corn isn't allowed to cross the Canadian border as of September 2001. Linda Webster, a spokesperson for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), said that all imported corn must have accompanying documents to certify that the shipment is StarLink free.

Genetically modified StarLink corn isn't allowed to cross the Canadian border as of September 2001. Linda Webster, a spokesperson for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), said that all imported corn must have accompanying documents to certify that the shipment is StarLink free. The corn is approved for use as animal feed in the United States but not in Canada. Last fall, the CFIA found traces of StarLink protein in food, feed and seed corn.
