#2013alive: Looking Ahead to Next Week's Goal - Letting Go of the Little Things

Share

Do little things drive you crazy? It’s time to take a deep breath and learn how to let go of the little things.

We’re coming to the end of month 2, week 2 of our 12 Months of Wellness. This week we focused on eating more meals together as a family. On Tuesday, we set a goal to eat together several times during the week—whether that meal was breakfast or dinner. On Wednesday, the alive staff shared their stories about creating family meal time.

Hopefully, you’ve managed to incorporate some of our ideas into your daily schedule and enjoyed eating more meals together as a family. How did you do?

Looking ahead to next week, we’ll be improving family ties by learning how to let go of the little things. The little stresses of everyday life—kids who dawdle when we’re in a hurry to get out the door, a crazy morning commute, too much to do at work and too little time—can all pile up.

So next week we’re going to try to reduce our stress levels by remembering to take a deep breath and breathe properly when we start to feel stressed. We’re also going to unwind by spending some quality time with our family members that doesn’t involve a planned activity.

Enjoy the weekend, kick back and relax over a family meal or two, and start thinking about ways you can let go of the little things that stress you out.
