#2013alive: Next Week, We Review Our Work Goals

Ending week 1 of September’s 12 Months of Wellness, we get ready to pave new professional paths next week!

During week 1 of September’s 12 Months of Wellness, we sought harmony between work and life. Did you find ways to let go of work stress?

Here at alive, we also created balance. Editor Sandi revealed that she multitasks when it comes to relaxation: her time off includes rowing, tennis, reading, and playing with her too-cute granddaughter. For Account Manager Jennifer, letting go of work is as easy as taking her dog—the adorably named Freckles—to the park. Meanwhile, family music time is an instrumental part of Marketing and Digital Communications Specialist Bronwyn’s downtime.

And now that we’re all balanced and relaxed, it’s the perfect time to take a closer look at our careers.

Prepare to pave new professional paths!

The business of eating, commuting, and sleeping can keep us fixed in our daily schedule. Next week, we step back from our day-to-day activities to focus on a different kind of business: our work satisfaction and career-related goals.

Before we begin setting new work goals, take some time to review your current employment situation; think about your

  • workplace values
  • past achievements
  • current career path
  • future goals

You may find that your job fits you like a favourite pair of jeans—or it may be time for a change.

Can I have that in writing, please?

Keep us updated on your 12 Months of Wellness progress through Facebook and Twitter (with the hashtag #2013alive), and check back for our ongoing blog posts.

Want to get a head start? Sprint toward next week by filling out our September goal-tracking sheet.
