Let Mom savour it slowly and enjoy the complex layers of flavour. The frozen bananas keep it cold and refreshing while the hemp hearts give it a dash of protein.

    Slice and freeze

    The night before you want to make this smoothie, slice a banana, place slices in a freezer-proof container or bag and place in freezer. This will make it easier than working with a whole frozen banana.

    Mint Matcha Smoothie

      Ingredients

      • 1 cup (250 mL) oat milk
      • 2 tsp (10 mL) maple syrup
      • 1 tsp (5 mL) matcha powder
      • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) hemp hearts
      • 1 cup (250 mL) baby spinach leaves
      • 1/4 cup (60 mL) fresh-picked mint leaves, a few reserved for garnish
      • 1 frozen banana (see tip)

      Directions

      To blender, add oat milk, maple syrup, matcha, hemp hearts, spinach, mint, and frozen banana to. Blend on high until smooth. Garnish with mint and serve immediately.
