Punch that Packs a Punch

    This drink is perfect for thirsty health fanatics (it has liver-cleansing action).

    4 cups (1 L) apple cider
    1 tsp (5 mL) cloves
    Juice of 1 lemon
    Juice of 1 lime
    Pinch cayenne pepper
    Agave nectar, to taste

    Bring apple cider and cloves to simmer in a medium saucepan. Turn off heat and add lemon and lime juices. Cover and let sit 5 minutes. Add cayenne pepper, cover, and let sit another 5 minutes. Sweeten with agave nectar to taste. Serve warm, mixing well before each serving to evenly distribute cayenne pepper. Serves 4.
