The 2005 alive Awards of Excellence

Looking for the latest in excellent natural health products? Look for the alive Award of Excellence medallion. These decals appear on products voted to the top of more than 18 product categories by peers within the industry. Throughout the year manufacturers have submitted products for this year’s alive Awards of Excellence in categories that range from Nutritional Supplements and the Home Medicine Chest to Sports Nutrition and Personal Care. Entries in this year’s best New Product category represent the leading edge in product innovation. This summer more than 140 products were submitted and then put on display at the alive Awards booth at the Canadian Health Food Association’s Expo East, Canada’s largest natural health trade show and conference. Each year this Toronto event attracts health food retailers and manufacturers from across North America. Those attending the 2005 event, held October 14 to 16, 2005, gladly took a moment at the end of a busy day of displays and workshops to applaud the quality that these natural health products represent. In addition to awarding the alive gold, silver, or bronze Award of Excellence medallion, the magazine also supports winners with highlights on our website at alive.com As well, manufacturers and retailers are welcome to display a framed alive Award of Excellence certificate at their place of business. Since 1994, natural health manufacturers have had the chance to win the recognition of their peers in a competition that promotes and recognizes excellence in product development. All Award-winning products shown in these pages are available for sale through Canadian natural health stores. Product labelling meets the legal requirements of the Canadian Health Protection Branch and the Department of Consumer Affairs. Organic certification documentation accompanied all entries in the Certified Organic product category. As well, all products were subject to laboratory analysis to ensure quality standards.
