Lime Yogurt Sauce

    This fresh-tasting sauce offers a welcome reprieve from fiery salsas. The casein protein in dairy is known to help tame the flame in your mouth. This mixture can be made up to two days in advance.

    1 cup (250 mL) plain 2% yogurt
    1/3 cup (80 mL) finely chopped cilantro
    2 tsp (10 mL) honey
    1 tsp (5 mL) lime zest
    Juice of 1/2 lime
    1/4 tsp (1 mL) sea salt

    Place all ingredients in medium bowl and stir to combine. Taste and adjust flavours if needed.

    Serves 8.

    Each serving contains: 25 calories; 2 g protein; 0 g total fat (0 g sat. fat, 0 g trans fat); 4 g total carbohydrates (4 g sugars, 0 g fibre); 94 mg sodium
