A: Curcumin and the liver

Just as you want a clean, well-maintained oil filter on your car, you want to count on your liver to break down and eliminate harmful substances from the body.

When fatty toxins hit a “poorly maintained” liver, they’re not eliminated properly and cause harm. The British Journal of Nutrition published animal research in 2011 that showed BCM-95 curcumin reduced liver inflammation and neutralized the risk for fatty liver disease that can come from obesity.

Curcumin has also been shown to strengthen the intestinal wall to prevent bacteria from passing out of the intestines and reaching the liver.

Curcumin and inflammation

Unchecked inflammation is the foundation of a whole host of health issues. The benefits of curcumin  inflammation and is useful as a supportive tool when pursuing good overall health.

Keep in mind that you have to use an absorbable curcumin at a therapeutic level. The BCM-95 mentioned in the study uses a nontoxic extraction method that enhances the absorption of curcumin and has turmerones from turmeric essential oils that aren’t found in other curcumin formulations. Without a scientifically proven extraction method to enhance absorbability, you aren’t getting what you want out of the curcumin.

Study curcumin. You will find that it’s been used as a powerful anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant, and it’s the right botanical for a wide array of health conditions.
